Here’s an awesome piece from the NY Times: people who acted as models for Norman Rockwell met up in Vermont. I find these sorts of stories extremely interesting.
I had a little more time on my hands in the newsroom than I would have liked for a Sunday, but it did give me time to peruse The New York Times Sunday Magazine Books sections of The New York Times and The Guardian. Let’s start off with what will likely be one of my [...]
It was on CNN before, but the only thing I can immediately find is this link to the New York Post. Apparently, the ship is thought to be from the 18th century. The Post reports it was in the NY Times Wednesday, and that “On Tuesday morning, workers excavating the site of the underground vehicle [...]
This is a kind of scary article about how Yemen could become the next Afghanistan. It is especially scary how Al Qaeda is becoming more and more of a media player in the Middle East. Something to think about.

This is pretty neat – and I’m waiting for a comment from my father on this one: Subway has a location that moves up and down on a crane for the men and women working on the new World Trade Center building. Too bad the general public can’t go – the views of New York [...]
Has anyone heard of this new drinking game called “icing?” Neither had I, until I read about said game in the New York Times of all places. The premise: you have to try and trick your friends into drinking a Smirnoff Ice malt liquor drink, while on one knee. There’s even a website: brosicingbros.com. Surely [...]
Its not so specific, but this article on the changing face of education in America – specifically how teacher tenure reform will be based on performance – is fascinating. I think the U.S. needs to think about the students in this as well though. Students have changed so much since I was in high school [...]
